SM Scholars’ Reel Contest
Objective:
The contest aims to provide SM Scholars with an opportunity to share their scholarship journey stories through engaging and creative short videos on Facebook’s Reels feature.
Participants will have a chance to inspire others, showcase their experiences, and win exciting prizes.
Mechanics:
Eligibility:
- The contest is open to all incoming SM scholars.
- Participants must have a valid Facebook account to submit their entries.
Contest Period:
- The contest will run from August 10-August 23.
How to Enter:
- Participants should follow the official social media pages of SMFI (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and must create a short video using Facebook’s Reels feature.
- To enter, participants should create a TikTok video highlighting his/her scholarship journey, including their challenges, achievements, personal growth, and how the scholarship has impacted their life and academic pursuits.
Reels Rules:
- Name, course, and school of SM Scholar should be indicated in the entry.
- Participants should use the SM Foundation’s Social Good Anthem as background music to as background music, click here.
- The video must run 15 to 59 seconds in length.
Submission:
- To enter the contest, participants must post their Reel on their Facebook profile with the hashtag #SMScholarLimitless, #SMScholar, and #SpreadingSocialGood in the caption.
- The participant’s post must be set to “Public” so that it is visible to the judges and other users.
Judging Criteria:
- Adherance to the theme: 30%
- Originality: 30%
- Creativity: 30%
- Audience engagement: 10%

SM College Scholarship
We help provide underprivileged children with better quality public education by donating school buildings and classrooms in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd). DepEd identifies areas in need to help address the backlog of classrooms in accordance with national requirements. With the new and conducive environment for learning, children perform better in school and are more inspired to learn, while teachers also become more effective.

Qualifications for the SM College Scholarship Program:
- Grade 12 graduates from public and private schools in the areas covered. Applicants from private schools must have a DepEd voucher and must be Grade 10 finishers from public high schools.
- General weighted average grade of at least 92% or its equivalent for Grade 12 – 1st semester.
- Total household income of at most P250,000 per year.

SM Technical-Vocational Scholarship
We broaden our reach by providing today’s youth the option of a quicker two-year technical-vocational course in areas with great demand in the market. Through our partner schools, we help out-of-school youth harness their skills to have better opportunities in life.
Be an SM Tech-Voc Scholar
- Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a high school graduate
- Must pass the requirements presented by partner Technical-Vocational Schools
- Our Tech-Voc Scholar enjoys:
- Choice of specialization in the areas of Food and Beverage, Automobile Mechanic, Fitter Machinist, Electro-Mechanical Technician, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Small Arc Welding and Electromechanics
- Full tuition subsidy in any of its partner schools
- On the job internship
- Referral to industry partners after graduation
- Other fun-filled activities
