To help facilitate the screening and identification of COVID-19 cases in the country, SM Foundation (SMFI) donated several RT-PCR and rapid COVID-19 test kits good for 24,600 tests amounting to over 31 million pesos to hospitals and local government units.
Turnover of PCR test kit donations to Antipolo LGU
This social good initiative of SM Foundation aims to boost the country’s fight against the coronavirus outbreak by testing more people and screening them for early diagnosis, quarantine and management. The RT-PCR test kits use swabs from patients taken from the nose or throat while a rapid test requires the patient’s blood sample. Among the beneficiaries were the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Muntinlupa; The Medical City in Pasig City; Mary Johnston Hospital in Tondo, Manila; and the local government units of Antipolo, Mandaluyong, Las Pinas, Taytay and Paranaque
