Two Batangas school buildings get facelift from SM Foundation
Two school buildings in Batangas City were recently repaired by SM Foundation in fulfillment with its commitment to undertake the maintenance and repair of school buildings it has donated. The school buildings that underwent repair belonged to the Navera National High School in Barangay Concepcion which was turned over by SM Foundation in July 2010 and the Bulacnin National High School in Barangay Bulacnin, Lipa City, turned over in January 2010.
Repaired door and windows of Bulacnin National High School; repainted side wall of Navera National High School.
Both buildings are one-storey, two-classroom edifices which were donated by SM Prime Holdings through the SM Foundation.
Repair works in the Navera National High School building included repainting of the school’s exterior and interior; repair of downspout and comfort room; replacement of doors, electrical outlets, and broken window jalousies; and repainting of the side wall and roof signage.
For the Bulacnin National High School, SM Foundation undertook the repainting of the exterior and interior of the building, the repair of the down spout and ceiling and replaced the classrooms’ broken jalousies. The side wall was likewise repainted and blackboards repaired.
SM Foundation normally revisits the donated schools every five years to check on needed repairs. However, when needed repair works are brought to SMFI’s attention, the Foundation immediately sends a team to check on them even before the five-year repair schedule. Juris Soliman, SMIC Consultant, headed the team which undertook the repairs.
