SM scholars now licensed Electronic Engineers

Last April, the Professional Regulation Commission released the list of 2015 Electronics Engineer Licensure passers. Out of the 892 who passed were Danilyn Joy Aquino and Machris Czereanah Flores, two proud SM scholar-graduates.

Aquino and Flores graduated in 2014 from the National University (NU) with a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering.

“Salamat po sa opportunity na binigay ng SM sa amin. Kung wala po ang SM Foundation, wala po kami ngayon sa narating namin. (Thank you for this opportunity. If it weren’t for SM Foundation, we wouldn’t have been able to get to where we are today),” Aquino said.

The same sentiments were echoed by fellow SM scholar Flores who expressed her happiness on what she was able to accomplish through her scholarship, barely a year after her graduation.

“I want to return the favor given to me by the SM Foundation. I want to share this success to our benefactors. Once again, thank you so much SM Foundation,” she said.

Aquino and Flores are two of SM Foundation’s scholar-graduates in 2014. Last year’s batch produced a total of 220 graduates, six of them finishing as summa cum laude, 19 magna cum laude, 29 cum laude and 15 with academic distinctions. The batch also produced two Certified Public Accountant (CPA) board top-notchers for 2014, namely: Jamaica Englis (Top 6, July 2014 CPA board exams) and Cedrick Zapanta (Top 3, October 2014 CPA board exams).

For 2015, SM Foundation presented 264 graduates for school year 2014-2015 during its annual Presentation of Scholar-Graduates. As of May 2015, SM Foundation has produced over 2,160 scholars under its College Scholarship Program and continues to support 1,500 scholars in its 84 partner schools nationwide.
