SM Foundation’s 86th farmers’ training launched in Tarlac
SM Foundation launched its 86th Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farmers Training in Sitio Sagpat, Brgy. Poblacion West, Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac on February 3, 2015. Participants included marginalized farmers and Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries from nearby municipalities and barangays.
Now on its 8th year, SM Foundation KSK Farmers’ Training Program continues to equip small-scale farmers with the right knowledge on doable agricultural technology and methods through modular lectures and hands-on training. The KSK Tarlac training will run for 12 weeks, and will culminate with a harvest festival in May.
To date, SM Foundation has already trained 10,080 farmers nationwide since it started in 2007.
Present during the event were SM Foundation and KSK partner agencies, namely: Harbest Agribusiness Corporation, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Agriculture (DA), and local government units. Also present were representatives from the barangays and the municipal offices.
