SM Foundation responds to metro fires, sends Kalinga Packs to hundreds of families
SM Foundation's Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) program delivered emergency aid to hundreds of families displaced by two separate fires in Metro Manila this month.
The first incident occurred on July 2 in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City, where a fire displaced 151 families. SM City East Ortigas ensured the quick distribution of Kalinga Packs to affected residents.
SM Center Shaw employee-volunteers also distributed Kalinga Packs to 508 families affected by a larger fire that struck Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City on July 7.
The foundation provided food packs and other essential items to both communities as part of its immediate response efforts.
OPTE serves as SM Foundation's disaster response initiative, operating in partnership with SM Supermalls and SM Markets. The program focuses on delivering rapid assistance to communities during emergencies and natural disasters.
