SM Foundation receives the Emilio Aguinaldo Award from DOH

Last February 14, SM Foundation (SMFI) was recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) and was conferred the Emilio Aguinaldo Award for its effort in raising almost 1,000 blood units from October 2018 to September 2019. The awarding ceremony of DOH intends to recognize the commitment and support of blood donor partners in providing safe, adequate and accessible blood for patients who need them and whose lives were saved.

This year, SM Foundation has already held numerous blood-letting drives in SM malls around the National Capital Region in partnership with the Philippine Blood Center (PBC) from January to February. Both organizations are planning to execute the second round of their blood drive by September this year.

Since 2012, the SMFI’s blood-letting program has been reaping accolades from the Department of Health (DOH) for its contribution to the blood inventory that could save thousands of lives, especially during accidents or emergencies.
