Blessing of the fifth SM Foundation mobile clinic during its medical mission at SM City Fairview.

Around 2,000 SM employees and their relatives enjoyed free healthcare services as SM Foundation launched its fifth mobile clinic during a medical mission conducted at SM City Fairview on May 4.

Committed to provide quality and accessible healthcare services to more communities, the additional mobile clinic will help boost the Foundation’s capacity to address the immediate medical needs of SM employees and their relatives, victims of calamities and disasters, and the underserved communities, among others.

The SM Foundation mobile clinics are state of the art mobile laboratories equipped to conduct diagnostic services (x-ray, ECG, glucose test, uric acid test, hemoglobin test, cholesterol test, bone density scan and ultrasound). These complement other medical services such as medical and dental consultation, tooth extraction, minor surgeries, and chiropractor services. The beneficiaries also had eye consultation and received free prescription eyeglasses.

Sarah Rosales, who has been working for SM Appliance Center for five years, expressed her heartfelt gratitude, “To the SM Foundation and whole SM Group, thank you very much po for accommodating us in this medical mission. Sobrang nakatutulong kayo sa community na may need ng [healthcare] assistance.”

“Thank you sa service ng SM Foundation na ito na talagang maraming natutulungan. Kasi mahal talaga magpa-check-up kaya, chance na talaga ito,” said Annie Canaviral, wife of an SM employee. Annie went to the medical mission to avail of these various free medical services with her two kids.

Present at the event were SM Foundation Trustee Ramon Gil Macapagal, SM Foundation executive director for Health and Medical Program Connie Angeles, SM Foundation senior project manager for Health and Medical Program, Dr. Ma. Bless Bertos, SM Retail Senior Assistant Vice President Gilda Maquilan, along with SM City Fairview representatives Arbie Cadalin, Assistant Mall Manager, and Maria Theresa Gonzales, Human Resources Manager.
