SM Foundation, partners distribute relief packs to earthquake victims in Davao

To help bring back normalcy to families affected by the recent earthquake in Mindanao, SM Foundation (SMFI), together with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), executed its relief operation covering 2,000 families from November 7- 8 in barangays of Bansalan and Magsaysay, Davao del Sur under its Operation Tulong Express (OPTE).

Through the disaster response program, SMFI, together with PSE, distributed relief packs—which are composed of bottled mineral water, rice, ready-to-eat meals, and instant noodles—to affected families.

Volunteers from the following organizations and units helped in the distribution of the relief packs: SM Markets, SM Supermalls, SM Emergency Response Team (SMERT) of SM City Davao and SM Lanang Premier, Davao City OCD/911 and Fire Volunteers, and MDRMO and MSWD of Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Through Operation Tulong Express, SM Foundation aims to be one of the first responders during calamities by giving immediate assistance to affected communities/families in the form of food, medicine, and other basic needs.
