SM Foundation (SMFI), in partnership with Goldilocks, distributed pastry products to around 70 hospitals, medical institutions, and groups in 12 cities that serve as frontliners in our fight against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The SMFI and Goldilocks acknowledge the hard work and courageous efforts of all COVID-19 frontliners and these donated products serve as a token of appreciation for them in keeping the Filipinos safe amidst this pandemic.

“The stress levels of the frontliners who treat patients infected with Covid-19 surely intensify as they are also exposed directly to the life-threatening virus. We hope that by giving them sweet treats with our personal well wishes, we were able to decrease their stress levels and spread positivity amidst the pandemic” said Chito Macapagal, Board of Trustees of SM Foundation.

Through this sustained social good partnership, more than 21,600 Goldilocks products which include cakes, macaroons, brownies, mamon tostado, polvoron, and packed meals were distributed in Metro Manila and neighboring areas as of April 17, 2020.

Cpt. Glenn Cariaga of Air Force General Hospital, Villamor Air Base—one of the recipients of this initiative—said, “Thank you so much, SM Foundation and Goldilocks Bakeshop, for supporting our healthcare workers at Air Force General Hospital amid the COVID 19 Pandemic."

This effort complements the other initiatives of the SM Group in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The SM Group has pledged P170 million for efforts to battle the spread of COVID-19 in the Philippines. This is on top of the waived rentals of all tenants of SM Supermalls nationwide, continued compensation of their employees, and the extension of an Emergency Financial Assistance to its front liners, security guards, and janitorial staff during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period.
