SM Foundation, Inc. (SMFI) has rolled out anew its Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farming Program in Central and North Luzon.
A total of 500 farmers from Manaoag, Pangasinan; La Union; Quirino; Isabela; and Guagua and Sta. Rita, Pampanga are set to undergo hands-on training in sustainable farming practices, financial literacy, and market linkage strategies.
The program provides targeted instruction in land preparation, seed selection, organic farming, pest management, and post-harvest handling. Additionally, participants will receive training on the basics of business, enabling them to scale their farming businesses and connect with larger markets.
Through the KSK Farming Program, the foundation aims to help farmers increase their productivity, improve household incomes, and promote self-sufficiency among small-scale farmers in vulnerable communities. By integrating modern farming techniques with business-oriented strategies, the program helps participants adapt to market demands and boost profitability.
Since its launch, the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farming Program has benefited over 30,000 farmers across the country. The Central and North Luzon activation further extends its reach, strengthening local food supply chains and fostering economic growth in rural communities.
