SM Foundation, AMCHAM Philippines forge partnership for workforce upskilling, job creation
SM Foundation and the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AMCHAM Philippines) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to formalize AMCHAM's support for the Job Opportunities Building Skills (J.O.B.S.) program.
The J.O.B.S. program is designed to upgrade the local workforce by providing relevant skills training, enhancing employability, and future-proofing businesses. Another key objective of the program is to reduce regional job distribution disparities by extending employment opportunities across the country.
Under the social good collaboration, SM Foundation and AMCHAM Philippines will work together to provide learning resources and conduct training sessions for program participants. The curriculum will be carefully aligned with current industry demands and standards, ensuring that trainees acquire skills that are immediately applicable in the job market.
As part of the agreement, the partners will also organize job fairs at select SM Malls, creating direct pathways for program graduates to connect with potential employers. This leverages SM Groups' social good partners to bridge the gap between skilled job seekers and businesses seeking qualified talent.
