SM Foundation advances agriprenurial skills of farmers in Visayas
Calbiga, Samar farmers now equipped with modern agricultural skills. Batch 318 and 319 of SM Foundation’s KSK-SAP program have successfully completed their training, empowering them with new knowledge and techniques to enhance their farming practices.
SM Foundation continues its mission to support Filipino farmers through the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan on Sustainable Agriculture Program (KSK-SAP).
This program focuses on enhancing agricultural and entrepreneurial skills to empower local communities.
KSK in Visayas and Mindanao
KSK concluded various trainings in Visayas and Mindanao, producing 156 graduates across strategic locations. 56 farmers from Ormoc City completed the program on August 30, while 44 Calbiga, Samar successfully capped their training on September 6.
Prior to these, the program successfully trained 56 farmers from Tagum City, Davao Del Norte, further expanding its reach in Mindanao
Ormoc City farmers empowered through KSK-SAP training. Local farmers in Ormoc City have successfully completed the KSK-SAP program, gaining valuable skills and knowledge to boost their agricultural productivity and improve their livelihoods.
Participants underwent a comprehensive curriculum combining lectures and practical training. The program covered modern farming techniques, sustainable practices, and business and marketing principles. This approach aims to equip farmers with relevant skills for today's agricultural market.
As part of the program, graduates took part in market tours with SM Markets, gaining insights into marketing strategies and potential selling opportunities.
Meanwhile, SM Foundation is actively rolling out farmer training programs across the country.
Since 2007, KSK has reached over 30,000 farmers across the Philippines. Some graduates have become seasonal suppliers for the SM Group.
KSK is conducted in collaboration with SM Supermalls, SM Markets, DA, DOLE, DOST, DSWD, DTI, and TESDA.
