SM Foundation adds 4th mobile clinic under its Health and Wellness arm

Continuing its commitment of bringing accessible health services to more communities, SM Foundation welcomed its fourth mobile clinic during its recent medical mission at the Earnshaw Health Center in Manila on May 27.

This new addition is expected to create more opportunities for the Foundation’s medical missions to reach out to more areas to provide free, accessible and quality medical and dental care to the underserved members of society.

With the help of its four mobile clinics, SM Foundation provides free diagnostic and laboratory services such as bone density testing, complete blood chemistry (FBS, Lipid Profile, RBS and complete blood count), electrocardiograph, urinalysis, x-ray as well as basic dental check-ups and extractions to various locations nationwide.

“Through this new addition, SM Foundation hopes to be able to include and cover more areas in our medical missions,” said Dra. Rorie Siasoco, SM Foundation Senior Project Manager for Health and medical mission lead.

Aside from malls and far-flung communities, a number of medical missions are also held in SM Foundation-renovated health centers year-round. These health centers are part of its sister-program, the Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Program, which primarily focuses in renovating, refurbishing and rebuilding health centers to provide broader health services to communities nationwide.

As of June 5, SM Foundation has already conducted a total of 1,066 medical missions, benefitting over 852,000 patients since the program started in 2001.
