SM Employees bring cheer to sick children of PGH
Bringing along bags of gifts and goodies, 64 SM employees visited pediatric wards 9 and 11 of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to spread cheer to children patients.
Before the gift-giving activity, the group celebrated mass under Fr. Reynaldo Reyes, SSP at the Immaculate Conception Chapel of PGH. Employees trooped to the pediatrics section afterwards to distribute gifts. The children also had fun opening the gifts from their SM “ates” and “kuyas.”
The gift-giving project is an initiative by Felicidad T. Sy Foundation, Inc. (FTSyFI) and the SM Catholic Ministry.
Coordinating the activity were Imelda Elido of FTSyFI and Belinda Jubilo-Santos of the PGH Medical Social Service.
“This is one of FTSyFI’s activities for employees to have access to outreach programs,” Elido said. “The employees were able to bring cheer to the children during the activity. There’s nothing more fulfilling than sharing one’s blessings and time with the sick children.”
As SM Foundation’s religious arm, FTSyFI actively supports the spiritual development within the SM Group. Other programs conducted by the FTSyFI for SM employees include recollections, seminars, and Lectors’ Formation for SM employee-mass servers and mass weddings. Outside of the group, FTSyFI also extends assistance to churches, seminaries, and religious institutions nationwide.
