Henry Sy Sr. Hall set to rise at Ateneo de Naga University

The Henry Sy Foundation (HSFI) and Ateneo de Naga University (AdNU) signed a memorandum of agreement for the reconstruction of the university’s administration hall. Present at the signing in Makati City were (from left) HSFI Trustee Engr. Ramon Gil Macapagal, HSFI Executive Director Dr. Lydia Echauz, HSFI Corporate Secretary Atty. Corazon Morando, AdNU President Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ, HSFI Chairman Henry Sy Jr., HSFI Trustee Hans Sy, and SM Investments Executive Director Harley Sy.

The Henry Sy Foundation, Inc. (HSFI) and Ateneo de Naga University (AdNU) have signed a memorandum of agreement for the reconstruction of AdNU’s administration building, which will be named Henry Sy Sr. Hall in honor of the SM Group founder.

The MOA signing was led by AdNU President Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ, and HSFI Chairmain Henry Sy Jr., with HSFI Trustee Hans Sy, SM Investments Executive Director Harley Sy, HSFI Executive Director Dr. Lydia Echauz, HSFI Trustee Engr. Ramon Gil Macapagal, and HSFI Corporate Secretary Atty. Corazon Morando.

The recent collaboration for social good aligns with the foundation’s mission of promoting quality education and its vision of empowering the youth and communities through academic excellence.

HSFI has supported several educational infrastructures over the years, including: Henry Sy Sr. Building at the Immaculate Conception Academy, San Juan; Henry Sy Sr. Innovation Center, Miriam College, Quezon City; Henry Sy Sr. Primary School Building, Xavier School, Laguna; National University (NU) Nazareth School, Manila; NU Sports Academy, Calamba; Henry Sy Sr. Hall, University of the Philippines Manila; Henry Sy Sr. Hall, University of Santo Tomas; Quezon Hall, West Visayas State University; and the Philippine School for the Deaf, Pasay City.

The reconstructed AdNU administration building will be named Henry Sy Sr. Hall, in honor of the SM Group founder, who believed in education as a means to empower youth and communities.
