After years of working both in industries such as showbiz and even in public service, Connie Angeles found her calling when she was invited by SM Foundation to lead its health and wellness programs in 2001.
A year later, SM Foundation renovated its very first Felicidad Sy Pediatric Ward at the East Avenue Medical Center. It was born out of the vision to make people change the way they think, feel and behave towards health facilities.
“The intention was for it to become a multi-health center with a healing and wellness atmosphere where children can have a fun place to go to instead of being fearful of doctors and to look forward to their next checkup,” Angeles said.
Today, Angeles continues to help push SM Foundation’s initiatives further, working as the Executive Director for Health and Wellness programs.
“It is my prayer that everyone who comes to each center not only feels better but also get better,” Connie added.
Through the Felicidad Sy Wellness Program, SM Foundation aims to improve the quality of public health centers and hospital wards by renovating and refurbishing as well as upgrading their equipment.
