SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farmers’ Training Program changed the life and reinforced Tatang Apolonio Vesaco’s passion for farming.
Tatang Apo loves working in the fields, but grew up using low-yielding methods of farming. So, from planting corn and rice, he switched to high-value crops with the aid of the new farming methods he learned from KSK.
Now, Tatang Apo plants sitaw, kamatis sili, mani, ampalaya and carrots. He uses pure organic technology on his farm, which produces a good volume of high-value and fresh crops. He also manages, accounts for, and markets his vegetables following his learnings in KSK.
“Ang isang magaling na magsasaka ay di natititgil sa pag-aaral,” he added.
